Open Water, Open Minds is a proposed national campaign designed to make recreational boating and fishing more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for all Americans. The campaign blends digital innovation, education, and grassroots outreach to engage underrepresented communities in outdoor activities—while promoting environmental stewardship of our nation's waterways.
Campaign Goals
Increase awareness of recreational fishing and boating opportunities
Foster inclusion across cultural, generational, and ability groups
Promote conservation practices through engaging content and tools
Support youth education through curriculum and immersive learning
Leverage partnerships with nonprofits, agencies, and community groups

Instructional Videos on boating, fishing, and water safety
National Curriculum promoting conservation education
Community Outreach through events, contests, and storytelling
Regional Facebook Groups to encourage local engagement
Ambassador-Led Podcast featuring diverse voices and tips
Partnerships with parks, tourism boards, and youth organizations
Why It Matters
Outdoor recreation connects people to nature and to each other. But not everyone has equal access. Open Water, Open Minds is about breaking barriers, elevating community voices, and building a shared future on our nation’s waters.
